Having claimed a class win in the Le Mans 24 Hours in June 2005, the EX264 came back in 2006, but with a new engine. Over the winter the Judd V8 had been replaced by an AER-developed two-litre turbocharged unit, developed from the unit previously used in the original MG Lola EX257.
Still retaining the EX264 designation, the car took a back-to-back win in the Le Mans 24 Hours for RML, this time with Andy Wallace as "third driver" in the
squad. Once again Mike and Tommy missed out on the Le Mans Series drivers' title, by just a single point, but the EX264 gave Tommy the tool to claim pole in every round of the 2006 Le Mans Series. Returning in 2007, it then went on to give Tommy and Mike the Le Mans Series title they'd battled so long to win.
