The MG EX264 was first introduced in 2005 as a development, jointly created by Lola, MG and RML, of the original MG EX257. It was distinguished by the introduction of paired roll-hoops and the fitment of the normally-aspirated Judd V8 powerrplant  
 
The MG EX264 in this configuration rewarded RML with a class win in the Le Mans 24 Hours of June 2005,
 
 

co-driven by Tommy, Mike Newton and Warren Hughes. It also claimed the team's first Le Mans Series win in the Istanbul 1000 Kilometres and enabled Tommy and Mike to finish the season as runner's up in the 2005 Le Mans Series driver's listings.
