Thomas Erdos and the RML MG Lola squad are off to Paul Ricard in the South of France on Monday to take part in the first official test of the new Le Mans Endurance Series.

The championship kicks off on May 9th with a 1000 Kilometre race at Monza in Italy – a circuit with which Tommy and his co-driver Mike Newton should be well acquainted after last weekend’s FIA GT round. Before then, however, RML will be preparing hard for the Le Mans preliminary tests over the weekend of April 24th/25th, and this visit to Paul Ricard is the first opportunity they will have had since the Le Mans 1000 Kilometres last November to fine-tune the Lola chassis.

Confirmation that the team’s application for a place in the 24 Hours at Le Mans in June had been approved came through last Friday, March 26th, when the ACO released the confirmed listing of participants. Adam Wiseberg, speaking on behalf of AD Holdings, was elated by the news. “We are really delighted that RML has secured an entry for Le Mans to run the MG Lola, in our colours (AD Holdings). Tommy’s performance in qualifying at the inaugural 1000 K showed that we can expect the car to demonstrate a very competitive pace. I’m sure Mike and Tommy are both looking forward to running in the “big class”, and we know that we’re going to give our customers a great weekend.”
